Aunty Dorothy Buhmann was born on Badu Island in the Western Torres Strait Islands. Her totem is Kaigus (stingray), Tribe Argan. She worked for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service (ATSICHS) for over 25 years as a Community Health Worker and is now retired. She is currently working at Burringilly Day Respite as a casual Home Care Worker.
